Our aims: To empower ALL pupils, increase motivation, independence, commitment and resilience, consequently raising academic standards in our school.
What have we done so far?
-Whole school work to introduce the standard-What, Why, Who, How?
-Children created class mission statements.
-Each class created a contract linking to the five key areas of learning, behaviour, attendance and classroom management.
-Each class produced an induction booklet covering all areas of school life to help new pupils settle in.
-School council made up of pupils from Reception to Year 6.
-Attendance competition and reward.
-Class display boards for targets and behaviour reward systems.
- Weekly class targets agreed and rewards given.
-Each class given a budget to manage and monitor. Visual displays set up for this.
-Take over day-Where all members of the school community (staff, governors, children etc) found out about the roles everyone has in school. Job shadowing of staff and the creation of something for each classroom or the school.
-Feedback improved in conjunction with the children.
-Children visited a Governors meeting to explain what Investors in Pupils was and how it impacted upon their learning.
-Investors in Pupils newspaper established.
