A big well done to all of the children who have represented Thursby School in sporting fixtures since September.
Huge congratulations must go to the 5 KS2 children who represented Carlisle at the District Cross Country Competition in the Spring term. They were fantastic ambassadors for our school and we are extremely proud of them.
Well done to all the children who participated in the KS2 consortium cross country event held here at Thursby in March. Our year 3/4 and year 5/6 girls were the overall winners of their race categories.
On Wednesday 6th March four children from year 5/6 represented our school at a swimming gala - not only were they brilliant representatives for the school but they came away with 3 individual gold medals, 1 individual bronze medal, 1 team gold medal and small schools champions! Great work you four!
The staff are extremely proud of all the children who have participated in sporting events so far this year and are looking forward to further success in the future.
Sports News 2017-2018
A huge well done to all of the children who have represented Thursby School in sporting fixtures since September. There have been some great achievements in Cross Country, Netball, Football, Gymnastics and Swimming. Sports News 2016-2017
Well done to our year 5 and 6 athletes who competed in a sports hall athletics competition on 16th November 2016 at The Sands Centre, Carlisle. The children competed in a variety of events and came 13th overall.
A HUGE well done to our year 5 and 6 football team who competed in a small schools tournament on Thursday 22nd September 2016. The boys played all their games well and after finishing joint 2nd are through to the county finals later this year!
Sports News 2015-2016!
Another huge well done to some more of our sporting stars - this time our Year 5 & 6 Kwik Cricket Team.
The children played a number of games in the small schools competition at Lanercost Cricket Club.
After showing fantastic sportsmanship, grit and determination the team finished 3rd in the competition.
The children were a pleasure to accompany at the event.

The children played brilliantly in all of their matches and were unfortunate to not be successful overall.

A huge well done to our year 3 & 4 tennis players!
The team of 4 played a total of 24 games between them at the Sands Centre on Friday 29th April and narrowly missed out on a place in the Carlisle School Games Final later in the year.
An extra highlight, to what was already a fantastic morning, was the arrival of the Davis Cup! The children couldn't wait to get their picture taken with it!

The team of 7 played a total of 5 games at Morton Academy on Wednesday 27th April in rain, snow and glorious sunshine!
The team came joint 3rd in their group and were excellent ambassadors for the school.

A team of children from years 3 to 6 competed in a cross country event at Morton Academy in March 2016.
They all ran their very best and were excellent ambassadors for the school. Well done everyone!

First Steps Netball
A huge well done to our year 3 & 4 netball team!
The team entered a First Steps Netball competition at Newlaithes School one Saturday morning in March 2016.
The girls played as a fantastic team and were excellent ambassadors for the school.

The team of children from years 3 to attended the annual Key Steps Gymnastics competition in February 2016.
The 2 teams of children from years 3 & 4 and years 5 & 6 came 3rd in their groups.
