Welcome to Class 4

We are a mixed age class of 31 children (Year 5 and 6) and our teachers are Mr Colombi and Mrs Gould (PPA cover). Mrs Carter, Mrs Warwick (STAs) and Miss McBride (Apprentice TA) will also be supporting the class at various times throughout the week.

Key Information:

• Our PE days are Tuesday and Thursday. We ask that children come to school wearing their PE kits on these days. Long hair should be tied up and no jewellery should be worn. Any stud earrings must be removed or taped if they are new piercings.
• Children are encouraged to bring a healthy snack for morning break and/or snack time in the afternoon.
• Please ensure that your child brings a full water bottle to school each day.
• School dinners are to be ordered on the schoolgrid website.

Homework:

• Every child is expected to read to an adult at least 3x per week and have their reading journals signed by the adult - Reading Journals will be checked every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Children will receive Dojo points if they achieve this each week.
• Weekly spellings will be set on SpellingShed every Monday with an online test on Friday.
• A piece of English or Maths homework will be given on a Monday and is to be completed / handed in by Friday. The homework will always consist of consolidation of learning that has taken place in the class. It will not involve new learning and therefore the children should be able to complete it independently. This is given as and when appropriate. In the lead upto SATS Y6 may also see an increase in homework set.
