Computing
Computing at Thursby School
At Thursby Primary School, the core intent of our computing curriculum is to prepare children to become confident, responsible and creative users of technology in an ever-changing digital world.
We aim to provide a stimulating and inclusive environment where every child develops the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to thrive in the modern technological age. We are committed to fostering curiosity, resilience and problem-solving skills through engaging and meaningful computing experiences. We believe that all children should be given the opportunity to understand how technology works, how it can be used effectively, and how to stay safe online.
We intend to provide our children with a curriculum which enables them to become digitally literate, computational thinkers and confident innovators. Our curriculum seeks to develop a wide range of skills progressively through computer science, information technology and digital literacy. Through the teaching of computing, children learn to design, create and evaluate digital content, develop logical thinking and programming skills, and understand the importance of using technology safely, respectfully and responsibly.
We believe that computing equips children with the essential knowledge and skills needed to participate successfully in an increasingly digital society and prepares them for the opportunities and challenges of the future.
