Welcome to the School Council

We are the School Council at Thursby Primary School, and we are proud to represent the voices, ideas and opinions of our fellow pupils.

Each School Council member is elected by their classmates in September to act as a representative for their class for the academic year. Our role is to listen to the thoughts, suggestions and concerns of other pupils and share them at our School Council meetings. This helps ensure that every child has a voice and an opportunity to contribute to making our school the very best it can be.

We meet regularly throughout the year to discuss important issues, celebrate successes, and explore ways to improve school life. We work closely with school leaders and staff to help make positive changes, organise events, support fundraising activities, and contribute to decisions that affect our school community.

As School Council members, we help to promote our school values by showing responsibility, respect, teamwork and leadership. Through our work, we learn how democracy works, how to express our views confidently, how to listen to others, and how to make fair decisions that benefit everyone.

Our School Council also plays an important role in supporting charitable causes, helping our local community, and encouraging pupils to become active, responsible citizens who can make a difference both in school and beyond.

We are proud to be the voice of our pupils and to help make Thursby Primary School a happy, inclusive and inspiring place to learn, grow and succeed together.

What We Do
